Windemere, Florida: Not a Town—Two Small Communities Share the Name

There is no incorporated town or city named Windemere in Florida. Instead, two unincorporated communities bear the name:

  • Windermere (Orange County): Affluent suburb southwest of Orlando, near the Butler Chain of Lakes. Known for luxury homes, golf courses, and proximity to Disney. Population ~3,000 (CDP).
  • Windermere (Brevard County): Tiny coastal community near Cocoa/Merritt Island, on the Indian River Lagoon. Mostly residential, few hundred residents.

Both spell it Windermere (with an 'r' before the final 'e'), not "Windemere." The Orange County Windermere is the one typically referenced in real estate and tourism.
