How many main land regions does Maryland have?

Maryland has two main land regions: the Eastern Shore and the Western Shore.

These regions are separated by the Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in North America. The Eastern Shore is the peninsula between Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and the Western Shore is the region west of the Bay and consists of the Piedmont Plateau and the Appalachian Plateaus.
