Yosemite Valley Restaurants

The seven miles long and a half-mile wide Yosemite Valley attracts millions of visitors every year. Tourists who visit the valley can view countless scenic rock formations, a wide variety of flora and fauna, waterfalls and the slow-moving Merced River. The valley also has several hiking trails for the more active visitors. Yosemite Valley is home to most of Yosemite National Park's dining options.
  1. Ahwahnee Dining Room

    • For tourists looking for an intimate, fine dining experience, the Ahwahnee Dining room is a perfect option. The restaurant, located in the Ahwahnee Hotel, features a 34-foot-high beamed ceiling and excellent views of Yosemite Valley's scenery. Ahwahnee Dining Room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, as well as Sunday brunch. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday brunch from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dress casually for breakfast, brunch and lunch. For dinner, "resort casual" attire is required; men must wear collard shirts and long pants and women are asked to wear dresses or blouses with skirts or slacks. Children over the age of four must also dress for dinner. Reservations are highly recommended for dinner.

    The Mountain Room Restaurant and Lounge

    • The Mountain Room Restaurant and Lounge is located at the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls. The dining room, which boasts views of the Yosemite water falls, is open for dinner only from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Seating is first come, first served in the dining room, but reservations are allowed for parties over eight or during holidays. The dining room menu features soups, salads, appetizers and various entrees including a catch of the day, steakhouse favorites and a three-course chef's choice menu. The dessert menu includes several options including classic crème brulee and orange panna cotta. The lounge, located above the dining room, is open from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and from 4:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The lounge offers tourists a mountain-esque atmosphere to relax in, view the surroundings and watch sports. The lounge serves light appetizers and cocktails.

    Curry Village Dining

    • Curry Village offers tourists a wide variety of food options at one location. Curry Village has five dining outlets all within a few steps of each other.

      The Curry Village Pavilion is a buffet style restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. The menu changes daily and often includes taco stations, pastas and a large selection of desserts. The Pavilion is not only open between March and October. Breakfast is served between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. daily; dinner is from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

      The Curry Village Pizza deck serves pizzas and salads. It is open daily from noon to 9:00 p.m. Tourists may enjoy the surrounding views of Glacier Point and Royal Arches while dining on the deck in the middle of the Village. The Pizza Deck also has a full bar which has a large variety of drinks and serves burgers and fries. The Bar is open from noon to 10:00 p.m. daily.

      Camp Curry Bar & Grill is open Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and noon to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The menu includes various blended drinks and food items including nachos, chicken wings and shrimp cocktails.

      Ice Cream & Coffee Corner serves ice cream, coffee, cappachinos, espresso and pastries daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

      The Taqueria is a walk-up eatery that serves burritos, tacos and nachos. It is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

    Yosemite Village Dining

    • Yosemite Village is another popular place to eat in Yosemite Valley. There are several options available in the Village within close distance of each other. Degnan's Loft is open spring through fall 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The restaurant offers several appetizers, soups and salads. Degnan's Deli serves sandwiches, salads and snacks. The deli is open year-round from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Yosemite Village's Degnan's Cafe is the place to go for smoothies, coffee drinks, ice cream and fresh-baked goods. The cafe is open seasonally from spring through fall, daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Internet kiosks are available visitors. The Village Grill serves an array of grill food including cheeseburgers and grilled chicken. The grill is open spring to fall from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

    Wawona Hotel Dining Room

    • The historic, Victorian-themed Wawona Hotel's dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A limited lunch menu is available until 4:30 p.m. During warmer days, visitors may sit out on the veranda or lawn to eat and enjoy the view. Some of the specialties at the Wawona dining room include the pot roast, trout and white turkey chili. On Saturday evenings, the dining room hosts a western-style barbecue; a brunch menu is available on Sundays and select holidays. Reservations are only available for parties with six or more members.
