Lodging in Monument Valley, AZ

Monument Valley, boarders both Arizona and Utah, and is not a valley in the traditional sense of the word. According to The American Southwest, a guide of national parks in the U.S., the region is a desolate, flat expanse of land bordered by broad mesas that rise several hundred feet. Monument Valley is not a United States national park; located entirely within the Navajo Indian Reservation, Monument Valley is a Navajo Nation Tribal Park. The View Hotel, is the only hotel located inside Monument Valley, but there are others outside of the Tribal Park.

    • The View Hotel is the only hotel located inside Monument Valley Navajo Nation Tribal Park. The hotel, which opened in 2008, features rooms on three floors; each room has a balcony facing east to provide views of Monument Valley. Rooms on the top floor are referred to as StarView rooms because of their stunning views of the desert night sky. Amenities include authentic Navajo decor, in-room coffee maker, microwave, mini-refrigerator, flat screen television, fitness center and wireless Internet access in the lobby.

    • Goulding's Lodge at Monument Valley is located in Monument Valley, Utah, adjacent to Monument Valley Navajo Nation Tribal Park. Goulding's Lodge provides a convenient tourist base for visiting the region's numerous attractions including the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde and the Four Corners as well as Monument Valley.     Hat Rock Inn

    • The Hat Rock Inn, located adjacent to Monument Valley Navajo Nation Tribal Park, features easy access to a private, undeveloped beach on the San Juan River. The area is not part of the Navajo Nation, so alcoholic beverages are permitted, and guests are free to hike, ride horseback, swim, raft or tube along the river. The Hat Rock Inn provides easy access to the region's numerous four-wheeler and off-road vehicle trails. Amenities include satellite and cable television, air-conditioned rooms, free wireless Internet access and full baths.
