Furnace Creek Resort is set on an oasis in the middle of Death Valley. The resort is home to the world's lowest 18-hole golf course, set at 214 feet below sea level, according to the resort's website. Guests can swim in the resort's pools which are fed by warm, underground springs, play tennis on the lighted courts, go horseback riding, take a carriage ride or take a Jeep tour of the valley. Fitness buffs can walk, hike or take a yoga or pilates class. The Inn, which is open from October to May, offers 66 rooms with decks or terraces, television with premium cable, plush robes and king-sized beds. Stovepipe Wells Village is 24 miles from Furnace Creek. Open year-round, the village offers an outdoor, heated swimming pool. Dine at the Toll Road Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Badwater Saloon offers beer, cocktails and pub fare. Sandwiches and snacks are available at the resort's store. Room amenities include king- or queen-sized beds, air conditioning, televisions and patios. The resort offers free parking for cars and buses, and an RV park with hookups. The Panamint Springs Resort is located in a valley at the foot of the Panamint Mountains. According the website, the resort is usually 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the rest of Death Valley. The Panamint Valley is home to sand dunes and geological rock formations, which add to the scenery. Camp in a tent or RV or stay in the resort's hotel. Rooms feature a choice of two or three double beds, a queen bed or a king bed. Some rooms also offer whirlpool tubs. Pets are welcome in the hotel for an additional fee. Guests can hike, bike, take four-wheel-drive tours and dine at the resort's restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and more than 100 beers and ales.
