Where is black oak Arkansas today?

Ozark Highlands. Today most of the remaining oak barrens are found within the Ozark Highlands region of Arkansas. It is in the southwestern portion of the Ozarks, within a 200-mile radius of Mena, Arkansas, that oak barrens are most likely to be found with little or no disturbance. More than half of the state’s best remaining areas of oak barrens are within a six-county area of southwestern Arkansas.
