Why is Charlotte North Carolina the queen city?

Charlotte was originally called "Queen City" because of a speech given by President Andrew Jackson as to how Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz' presence brought "peace and happiness like no other to her husband during turbulent times" during her lifetime of 1744-1818.
