Nestled in the Grand Teton Mountains is Jackson Hole. Known as the Gateway to Yellowstone at the Teton Forest, the vistas are truly breathtaking. The three well-known ski resorts are Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Grand Targhee Resort and Snow King Resort. In addition to downhill skiing travelers can also experience snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating and dog sledding. Casper is located in central Wyoming and is known as Wyoming's Adventure Capital. Casper is a year-round destination that offers experiences for both the most adventurous and the casual tourist. Take in a Broadway show at the local theater or a dance performance at Casper College. Area sports include hunting, fishing, golf, biking and hiking. The Hogadon Ski Area offers snowmobile trails, downhill skiing, snowboarding, rentals and an accredited ski-school.
Found at the foot of the Snowy Range Mountains is the ski resort town of Centennial. Centennial is five miles from the Snowy Range Ski Area, which offers downhill skiing, snowboarding at Renegade Park and on the half pipe, and cross country trails. In town, enjoy local restaurants, discover the Centennial Community Theater or visit a gallery featuring local artists.
Named for Buffalo Bill Cody, the town of Cody is the eastern gateway to Yellowstone. Just outside of Cody is the Sleeping Giant Ski Area. One of America's oldest ski areas, Sleeping Giant offers tree skiing and snowboarding as well as a beginner area. With plenty of lodging, restaurants, galleries and world famous rodeo, Cody is a great place to relax after a long day on the slopes. This region has the largest variety of wildlife in the continental U.S.
