Many treasure items were historically discovered on the beaches near the Driftwood Resort by Waldo Sexton. Sexton used driftwood found on the shores to build his resort and used the treasure he found to decorate the interior. Some items on display at the Driftwood Resort include coins, maps, rings, cannons and furniture.
Though some of the larger items such as cannons and furniture are not as easily found on the beaches today, the beach at the Driftwood Resort may still be hiding some treasures from the sunken Spanish fleet. Some recent items found include jewelry, coins and some smaller containers.
There is a public parking lot where Beachland Boulevard dead ends at Ocean Drive. It is best to park there, walk over the boardwalk and head south, the Driftwood Resort will not be far.

Just at the border of Vero Beach and Sebastian, Wabasso Beach is a prime location for treasure hunting. Many items have been found on this beach and neighboring Disney's Vero Beach Resort's beach, including coins, jewelry, gem stones and some other metal pieces.
Many of the items found along these beaches in the past are on display at Mel Fisher's Treasure Museum in Sebastian. The treasure museum is filled with a combination of items from diving expeditions and treasure finds on local beaches.
