Things To See and Do in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta is a resort city in the Mexican state of Jalisco, and it is a popular tourist and spring break destination. Some things to do are to go on boat, biking and hiking tours; go deep-sea fishing; take a trip on a pirate ship; go horseback riding; and visit art galleries.
  1. Boat, Biking and Hiking Tours

    • Tourists can engage in activities such as whale watching, snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming with dolphins, sailing, trekking through the jungles or champagne tastings on bike, boat or hiking tours.

    Deep-Sea Fishing

    • You can catch sport fish such as marlin, sailfish, dorado, wahoo and mahi mahi.

    Pirate Ship

    • Tourists can take a trip aboard the Marigalante, a pirate ship that is a replica of the Santa Maria. The trip features live sword fighting, musical productions, and a two-hour stop where guests can go snorkeling, play volleyball and take banana boat tours.

    Horseback Riding

    • Charros, or cowboys, have ridden along hills and valleys in Puerto Vallarta for a number of centuries. Tourists can take horseback riding expeditions along these areas, and through jungles and next to rivers.

    Art Galleries

    • In Puerto Vallarta's galleries, there are contemporary works by Mexican artists, sculptures, jewelry, art from Huichol and Nahua Indians, pottery, folk art, and stained glass windows.
