How to Enjoy San Francisco's Fleet Week

The famed Blue Angels will whiz into San Francisco for their annual visit October 6-10, 2000. With all of the activity surrounding Fleet Week, it is important to choose the events that will allow you to enjoy the excitement without experiencing Fleet Week overkill.

      View the dazzling acrobatic and aeronautic skills of the Blue Angels from a comfortable and accessible vantage point. The Angels will fly at 3:10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (October 6 and 7) and at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday (October 8).

      Find the perfect spot to view the Fleet Week Night Air Show on Friday, October 6, at 8:30 p.m. The show will take place between the Golden Gate Bridge and Treasure Island.

      View the Parade of Ships on Saturday, October xx, at xxx a.m. Don't forget to watch for the U.S. Navy jets, which are scheduled to launch from the USS Abraham Lincoln.

      Meet and greet sailors and civilian flyers during the Saturday Night Ship Receptions, on October xx. Ships and their sailors will be honored at Ghirardelli Square, The Anchorage, The Cannery, Gordon Biersch Brewery and Restaurant, and Jack London Square from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

      Tour U.S. Navy ships moored at San Francisco, Oakland and Alameda Piers. Beginning Sunday, October xx and continuing through Tuesday, October xx, general tours will be offered between 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
