Land East of the Appalachians: Civil War or French and Indian War?

The statement that the land east of the Appalachian Mountains was acquired as a result of the Civil War is false. In reality, this territory came under British control following the French and Indian War (1754–1763), the North American theater of the global Seven Years' War.
