Mount Shasta: A Majestic Volcano in the Cascade Range

Mount Shasta (4,322 m / 14,179 ft) is a prominent stratovolcano in the Cascade Range, a volcanic arc stretching from southern British Columbia through Washington and Oregon to northern California. The Cascades include numerous active and dormant volcanoes (e.g., Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, Lassen Peak). Mount Shasta's massive, snow-capped cone dominates the northern California landscape and holds spiritual significance for Indigenous peoples. Its last confirmed eruption was circa 1786.
