Is the Midwest same thing as great lakes?
The Midwest is a region of the United States that includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The Great Lakes region is a region of North America that includes the five Great Lakes: Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario. The Great Lakes region also includes the Canadian province of Ontario.
The Midwest and the Great Lakes region do overlap, as the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin are located in both the Midwest and the Great Lakes region. However, the Midwest is a larger region than the Great Lakes region, as it also includes the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
