The Three Rivers of Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is famously situated at the confluence of three rivers:
- Allegheny River – flows north from northwestern Pennsylvania.
- Monongahela River – flows south from West Virginia.
- Ohio River – formed by the merger of the Allegheny and Monongahela at Point State Park, then flows west.
All three meet at Point State Park, creating the city's iconic "Three Rivers" identity.
