    F.D. Roosevelt State Park

      The F.D. Roosevelt State Park is operated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and has 140 campsites available for guest use. The park was named after President Roosevelt because of the time he spent recovering in the area after he was stricken with polio. Campsite prices as of the 2010 season range from $23 to $25 for tent, RV and trailer camping and back country sites are a mere $6 per person. The park has two lakes for fishing and boating, 42 miles of hiking trails, horseback riding and horse rental for guests to enjoy.
