Hessel Bay Sunset Cabins is a quiet, lakeside site and has a half-dozen cabins available. The cabins have bathrooms, front porches, outdoor picnic and grilling areas and kitchens stocked with dishes. Hessel Bay Sunset Cabins has its own dock, and onsite there are campfire and horseshoe pits. Kayaks, fishing boats and paddle boats can also be rented, and the site is convenient to Hessel's golf course and the Kewadin Casino.

Head just 25 miles west around the lakeshore from Hessel to St. Ignace and you will find the Pointe La Barbe Inn and Mackinac Cabins. Pointe La Barbe Inn has nine cabins. All have showers, and many have a range of kitchen facilities and air conditioning. The cabins are on the wooded shores of the Straits of Mackinac, where you can hike, view the activity on Lake Michigan and take a ferry to the popular Mackinac Island.
