Campgrounds in Michigan With Cabins

Camping is a popular activity in Michigan because of its abundance of natural attractions, such as lakes, streams and rural forested areas. Although the majority of campers prefer to stay in their RVs or pitch tents, Michigan also has many campgrounds that offer comfortable lodging in cabins.
  1. Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island KOA

    • Michigan has 18 KOA campgronds with cabins, including the Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island KOA on the northern tip of the mainland. The 50-acre campground also has sites for RVs and tents. There is an outdoor pool, restrooms with showers, a laundry facility, a room where guest can watch movies, a dump station, and free wireless Internet and modem data ports. Firewood and LP gas are sold at the on-site store. The 26 cabins have either one or two rooms. The campground is located with biking distance of downtown Mackinaw City and there are 18 golf courses within 30 miles. Three national historic parks are in the area along with the Thunder Falls water park.

    Clementz's Northcountry Campground & Cabins

    • Clementz's Northcountry Campground & Cabins is in the town of Newberry, which is near the middle of the Upper Peninsula portion of the state. Its standard log cabins come with two beds with bedding, along with microwaves, refrigerators, coffee makers and toasters. Outside are a gas grill, fire pit and a picnic table. The campground also has a cabin lodge with a bathroom, two sleeper chairs in the living room, cable TV, and a kitchen with a microwave, coffee maker and a table that seats six. The property also has RV and tent camping, and on-site amenities include a pavilion picnic area, restrooms, showers, a laundry facility and a book-exchange library. Campers can hike on a nature trail that winds through the campground's 40 acres.

    Twin Oaks Campground & Cabins

    • Situated in the middle of the Manistee National Forest, the Twin Oaks Campground & Cabins is in Wellston and 30 minutes east of Lake Michigan in the western part of the state. Cabins come with air conditioning, satellite TV, full kitchens, bathrooms and large log beds. Among the facilities on the property are a horseshoes pit, sand volleyball court, a playground, laundry room, fish cleaning station, showers, restrooms and a place to store RVs. More features are free wireless Internet, a fully stocked store that sells firewood and ice, a lodge with a pool table, electronic video games, a book exchange, a dog walk and a dump station.
