Georgia State Campgrounds With Cabins

The state of Georgia may be known for its peaches, but a close second is their campgrounds. Due to the diverse layout of the state, there is a region for all interest preferences. Hikers will enjoy exploring the Blueridge Mountains, water adventurist are likely to visit the coastal region and the history buff will vacation in the southern parts. Camping styles differ and you should be comfortable with the site choice you make.

      Creekwood Resort is located amid the North Georgia mountains on 18 acres of private land. This campground is also home to three beautiful cabins. Each is secluded and separated from the RV campsites. There is one road into the resort and security checks everyone coming in or going out for your safety. Each cabin is 1,500 square feet with three bedrooms and one bath. The kitchen is fully equipped and the master bedroom boasts a jacuzzi overlooking the mountain ranges. Standard amenities include central air/heat, VCR, DVD, cable television, and a gas grill on the deck. Nearby activities include horseback riding, river tubing, and hiking.

    Trackrock Campground and Cabins

    • National Forests surround the Trackrock Campground.

      Trackrock Campground and Cabins is located in Blairsville, Georgia on 300 acres of natural environment. The property is bordered on three sides by National Forests and isolated from any kind of commercialism. Lakeside and Rustic wooded cabins are available in one or two bedrooms. The kitchen is fully functional and guests receive free fresh bed linens. A stacked stone fireplace is readily accessible for those cooler evenings and central air conditioning for the heat of the day. Other amenities include satellite television, DVD player, wireless access, cellular service, and the good old fashioned porch rockers. On site activities are numerous and Trackrock is most noted for its horse camps and trail riding. Fishing, swimming, hiking, horseshoes, and volleyball are also available. The Appalachian Trail and the Richard Russel Scenic Byway are within close proximity to the campground.

    Cloudland Canyon State Park

    • Bring your hiking boots to Cloudland Canyon.

      The western edge of Lookout Mountain in Rising Fawn, Georgia is home to the Cloudland Canyon State Park. The name comes from the deeply cut gorge running into the mountain by Sitton's Gulch Creek. Sixteen cabins are located on top of the mountain near the edge for spectacular views and available in two or three bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped and a fireplace awaits for a romantic evening. Outside boasts a screened porch, picnic table, and fire ring. Hikers will enjoy a 600-step staircase that takes you down in the canyon where two waterfalls pour into pools. Activities include geocaching (a treasure hunting game), tennis, disc golf and fishing. A short drive away are Incline Railway, James H. Floyd State Park, Lookout Mountain and the Tennessee Aquarium.
