Campgrounds and RV Resorts in Georgia

The southeastern state of Georgia has scenic national parks, winding rivers and rolling green hills. The famed Appalachian National Scenic Trail begins at Georgia's Springer Mountain, cutting a 2,100 mile swath all the way to Maine. Hike the trail through the beautiful Chattahoochee National Forest, go kayaking or canoeing at Lake Rabun or explore the Oconee National Forest. If you're looking to camp in Georgia, there are many lovely areas to pitch your tent or park your RV.

  1. Tallulah Gorge State Park

    • In the Chattahoochee National Forest in Northeast Georgia, there's a spectacular, two-mile-long canyon called Tallulah Gorge, one of the state's most beautiful places to hike, rock climb and go camping. Take the Hurricane Falls staircase into the gorge for a strenuous hike. Swim, bike and go whitewater rafting. The park encompasses over 2,700 square miles and has a lake with a beach plus tennis courts, picnic tables and a gift shop. There are 50 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs. You must obtain a free permit to access the gorge floor, but entry is contingent on weather and water conditions. The park is open from 8 a.m. to dark.
