The Napa Valley Wine Train takes guests on a tour across Napa Valley. It hosts a wine education dinner, which is ideal for novices to learn not only about Napa Valley, but about the wines cultivated in the region. During the wine education dinner, guests are given a special wine and food menu. They are then served their meal and small portions of the type of wine that goes with their meal, which helps instruct participants in wine/food pairings. Each meal has a theme, and with each theme, guests will learn about the history of the wines served, their flavors, characteristics and how they are made.
Platypus Tours offer social wine tours and private wine tours. A novice can enjoy this tour as he will learn about about wines and their tastes, the characteristics of each wine and how it is made, while visiting four of Napa Valley's wineries. The tours last all day, from approximately 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., as of 2011, and during the tour, a picnic lunch is provided. The tours are bus tours with a guide who is knowledgeable about Napa Valley history and its wines and wineries.
Napa Valley Limo Tours takes guests on a tour of Napa Valley and to four of its wineries in either a limousine or a limousine bus. This tour is suitable for a novice or an experienced wine enthusiast, as the tour guides are knowledgeable about Napa Valley wine and can answer questions presented by guests. Aside from sampling wine at the four wineries, guests are offered complimentary champagne during the limousine ride. The tours last all day, from approximately 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., as of winter 2011. A catered lunch is provided by Girl & the Fig Restaurant.
California Wine Tours provides group wine tours that visit five of Napa Valley's wineries. The novice wine connoisseur will learn the art of tasting wine as well as the history and characteristics of the types of wine that they will be tasting at the wineries. The tours begin at 10:30 a.m. and depart from the Embassy Suites Hotel, and guests are returned to the starting point at approximately 3:45 p.m., as of winter 2011. A lunch is also provided at V. Sutti Winery and Restaurant; however, it is charged separately from the tour price.
