Hunterdon County parks host activities such as canoeing, hiking and horseback riding. The Hunterdon Arboretum is home to several nature trails and self-guided gentle walks appropriate for children. Hunterdon County is home to a variety of kid-friendly restaurants. Clinton Station Diner hosts a kids' night on Mondays. Activities and entertainment include a clown and an electronic train. Sneddon's offers kid-friendly food, simple enough for a child's palate, but delicious enough for an adult's. Parents voted Rockafella's as a Hunterdon County family favorite.
When the seasons change in Hunterdon, so do the activities. Children enjoy sledding in the winter while tubing down the Delaware River in the summer. Summer camps offer plenty of activities for children from arts to sports. These camps run day and sleepover programs, allowing children of all age and comfort levels to participate.

The YMCA offers after-school and before-school programs that teach children healthy lifestyles and the importance of physical fitness while having fun. Other programs such as youth sports, such as soccer, teach kids team-building skills.
