Lakes are in abundance in this region of India, although there is a concern that they are slowly disappearing. Coimbatore has nine lakes, including the Kuruchi, Singanallur, and Valankulam Lakes, as well as wetland areas that make for great destination spots. These lakes are home to lots of wildlife, including storks, pelicans and migratory birds like the black-winged stilts, amphibians, mammals and reptiles. The area's wetlands are the best places to see nature in its pure state.
The city of Coimbatore has three museums: the Khadi Ghandi Museum, the Government Museum and the Forest College Museum. The Khadi Ghandi Museum is dedicated to the life and memory of Ghandi, with displays of artifacts and pictures that span his entire life. This museum offers visitors an in-depth look at rare moments in Ghandi's life. The Forest College and Government Museums feature displays that focus on ancient building tools and materials for burial as well as animal and plant fossils and articles of everyday life like coins and decorative pieces.
