Located 600 miles off the coast of North Carolina, Bermuda is made up of 181 islands, with the eight major ones linked by bridges. The oldest British colony, Bermuda retains much of the British influence yet has a culture all its own. Laid-back and proper at the same time, Bermuda offers visitors fine shopping, water activities and cultural adventures. The island has three ports for cruise ships, including Hamilton and St. George's, but larger vessels tend to use Kings Wharf because it has deeper waters.
Royal Caribbean operates a five-night cruise from Baltimore to Kings Wharf on its ship Enchantment of the Seas. The ship has a spa, casino, rock climbing wall, bungee trampolines, Boleros (a Latin-theme lounge) and a Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop. The ship docks for a day and a half in Bermuda and offers a number of shore excursions for purchase. Days at sea are filled with activities such as bingo, scavenger hunts and dances. Rates start at $409 per person and go up to $1,300 per person based on sail date and cabin type.
