At the time of publication, drilling reservists with ranks E-1 and E-2 receive pay of $196 and $219, regardless of the number of years in military service. E-1 service members with less than four months of service receive reserve drill pay of $182 until reaching five months of service. The remaining enlisted ranks receive reserve pay that starts at $260 to a maximum of $828 for an enlisted E-9 with over 26 years of service. An enlisted E-9 has the rank of sergeant major, which is the highest enlisted rank.
Warrant officers are higher in rank then enlisted personnel, and have already served enlisted time in service. Reserve pay for warrant officers begins at $358 to a maximum of $1,013 for service members with over 38 years of service.
Commissioned officers receive the highest reserve drill pay. Reserve officer drill pay begins at $366 to a maximum of $1,525 for an O-7 officer with over 38 years of military service. An officer that reaches the maximum pay level has a rank of brigadier general in the Marine Corps.
Military pay charts are organized according to military pay scales that correspond to a military rank. Military pay scales for enlisted service members range from E-1 to E-9, which is from a private to sergeant major. Warrant officer pay scales range from W-1 to W-5, which carries the title of chief warrant officer at pay grades above W-1. Reserve officer scales range from O1 to O7, which corresponds to ranks of second lieutenant to brigadier general.
