Search the Internet for a rental car company by typing "rental cars" into a search engine. If you are searching for a car rental you need to make in a week or less, you will probably find a better deal with a larger, national company. If you are reserving a rental further in advance, you can try local rental companies or car dealerships. If you don't have access to the Internet, you can look up "rental cars" in the phone book for choices and complete the following steps in much the same way.
Use one rental company's site to select the dates you'll need the car, where you want to pick it up and where you want to return it.
Choose the type of car you want to rent. There are many options, from compact cars to trucks and SUVs. This should generate a cost estimate.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 with at least two other car rental businesses, and choose the best deal.
Add any extras you want to add to your car rental, including GPS or child safety seats. These extras are optional and increase your cost.
Click "submit," and view the entire reservation, including pick-up and drop-off locations, the type of car you selected, any extras you added and the total price.
Enter your first and last name and email address. You are not required to put in any credit card information.
