Mount Everest is located in the Mahalangur Himal sub-range of the Himalayas. The mountain itself is situated on the border between China (Tibet) and Nepal. On the Chinese side, it is part of the Tingri County, while on the Nepali side, it is part of the Solukhumbu District.
