Tips on the Celebrity Xpedition Galapagos Cruise

Situated off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands are famous for inspiring Charles Darwin's theory of evolution and are home to animals and plants seen nowhere else. Celebrity Cruises offer a 10 day package on the Celebrity Xpedition. The number of guests is limited to 92, ensuring an intimate and luxurious experience. Ecuador's conservation organization awarded Celebrity its Smart Voyager certificate for meeting conservation and environmental standards and providing travellers with a rare experience that causes minimal environmental impact.
  1. Discover Nature

    • Expert naturalists accompany the cruise. During the day they guide guests around the islands' spectacular wildlife and at night give lectures and briefings for the following day's expedition. Around the Galapagos you will see the legendary Galapagos turtles, unusual marine iguanas, and the famous Darwin finches. The ship's sunrise deck is the ideal place for some night-time star gazing with the help of on-board astronomers. During the cruise, guests visit the islands of Española, Santa Cruz, Batolomé, Isabela and Fernandina, Ràbida, Santiago and Santa Maria.

    Amenities

    • The Celebrity Xpedition offers guests Darwin's Restaurant for a fine dining experience, and the Beagle Grill for more informal meals. The Blue Finch bar provides drinks and cocktails and is ideal for watching the Pacific sunsets around the Galapagos. The ship has a salon providing massages and beauty treatments, and a gym with hot tub and sauna. In the Discovery Lounge, guests can relax with a book from the ship's library. Entertainment on board includes a casino, live performances and an art auction. There are activity clubs for young children and teenagers, and the ship is well adapted to people with special needs ranging from mobility to impaired vision or hearing. Staterooms with wheelchair access are available on all Celebrity Cruises.

    Suites and Staterooms

    • The ship offers guests the choice of a Penthouse or Xpedition suite, at 460 square feet and 230 square feet, respectively. Staterooms are Premium or Deluxe, both 160 square feet, and Ocean View, 125 square feet. The package rates include transfer from the Quito airport to the Quito Marriott hotel for a two night stay. The following day guests are given a pre-cruise tour of Quito, including an afternoon's shopping trip.
