Why do you think early people continued to migrate south throughout the Americas instead of settling in what is now Alaska?

Early humans did migrate to Alaska, but the environment there was much harsher than in the more southern regions of the Americas, making it more difficult for them to establish permanent settlements. Alaska is located at the northernmost part of the continent, and it experiences long periods of cold weather and darkness, as well as limited food resources. Additionally, the Bering Land Bridge, which allowed humans to migrate from Asia to North America, was only open during certain periods of time due to changes in sea levels, so there may have been times when early people were unable to reach Alaska.
