Why did the yemassee Indians migrate to sc from present-day Florida?

There is no evidence to support the claim that the Yemassee Indians migrated to South Carolina from present-day Florida. The Yemassee were an Iroquoian-speaking people who originally lived in the Georgia and South Carolina coastal region. They were largely decimated by European diseases and wars with the English colonists in the 18th century. Some Yemassee survivors joined other Native American tribes in Florida, while others remained in Georgia and South Carolina.
