Where is South America located?

South America lies entirely in the Southern Hemisphere and largely in the Western Hemisphere, although a small portion of Colombia lies also in the *Northern Hemisphere.* It lies west of the Atlantic Ocean, north of the Antarctic Plateau, and *east of the Pacific Ocean,* including the Caribbean Sea which borders both North and South America.
