What happened to the queen of Hawaii when was annexed?

The Hawaiian monarchy was overthrown on January 17, 1893, by a group of American businessmen and sugar planters. Queen Liliʻuokalani was forced to abdicate and Hawaii was annexed by the United States in 1898.
