Do Hawaii & Alaska Have Bordering States? Yes — They Do

Correction: Both Have Borders

• Hawaii: No land borders, but maritime boundaries with California (EEZ) and international waters. It's an archipelago — no shared land border with any state.
• Alaska: Land borders Canada (Yukon, BC) — 1,538 mi. Maritime borders with Russia (Bering Strait) and Arctic Ocean.

🗺️ Key Distinction

"Bordering states" usually means US states sharing a land border.

• Alaska borders 0 US states (only Canada).
• Hawaii borders 0 US states (only ocean).
• Both are non-contiguous — not connected to the lower 48.

So: 0 bordering US states each, but Alaska borders a foreign country (Canada).
