What biome is Juneau Alaska?

Juneau lies within the temperate rainforest ecoregion, which is a globally rare ecosystem with relatively small pockets around the world. The city receives some 8 feet of precipitation annually and has a moderate average temperature of 42°F. The Tongass National Forest, home to the world’s largest temperate rainforest, encircles Juneau and Admiralty Island, a designated World Biosphere Reserve, lies some 10 miles west.
