1. Photic/Surface/Pelagic zone

- Epipelagic: surface to 200 m deep

- Mesopelagic: 200 to 1000 m deep

2. Dysphotic or Twilight Zone

- Bathypelagic: 1000 to 4000 m

3. Aphotic or Midnight Zone

- Abyssopelagic: 4000 to 6000 m
