Where do sponges live in the top middle or bottom of ocean?
Sponges are found in all marine environments, from the shallows to the deep sea. However, they are most abundant in the euphotic zone, the upper layer of the ocean where sunlight can penetrate. This is because sponges rely on sunlight to photosynthesize and produce food. Some sponges also live in the mesophotic zone, the layer of the ocean below the euphotic zone where sunlight does not penetrate. These sponges are typically found attached to rocks or other hard surfaces.
