Why are there more in the Pacific ocean than Atlantic?

This is not accurate, there are actually more volcanoes in the Atlantic Ocean than in the Pacific Ocean. The Atlantic Ocean has approximately 100,000 seamounts, while the Pacific Ocean has approximately 75,000 seamounts.
