There Are Five Oceans, Not Four

The Earth has five recognized oceans:

1. Arctic Ocean
2. Atlantic Ocean
3. Indian Ocean
4. Pacific Ocean
5. Southern Ocean

The Southern Ocean, encircling Antarctica, was formally recognized as the fifth ocean by the International Hydrographic Organization in 2000.
