Does palm trees grow on beaches in gulf port Mississippi?

Palm trees do grow on beaches along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, including Gulfport. The most common type of palm tree in this region is the Sabal palmetto, also known as the cabbage palm. These trees can tolerate the sandy, saline soils and high temperatures of the Gulf Coast climate. They are often used in landscaping and provide a tropical feel to the area.
