The Philippine Sea: World's Largest Sea

The Philippine Sea is the largest sea in the world, covering approximately 1,351,000 km² (522,000 sq mi). It lies in the western Pacific Ocean, bounded by the Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, and Palau. It is a deep sea (average depth ~4,000 m) and contains the Mariana Trench, the deepest point on Earth at 11,034 m (36,201 ft).
