What river runs through San Francisco?

The Sacramento River and the San Joaquin River flow through San Francisco Bay to create San Francisco's northern and eastern boundary. They do not, however, intersect the actual city of San Francisco, which stands on a peninsula northwest of the bay and south of Marin County.
