Where can the deep sea be found?

The deep sea refers to the deepest parts of the ocean. The ocean is divided into several depth zones based on their depths, with the deepest zone being the abyssal plain which extends from 4,500 meters to 6,000 meters below the surface. Some of the deepest parts of the ocean are oceanic trenches which can reach much greater depths. Oceanic trenches are long, narrow valleys that can extend for thousands of kilometers and are usually associated with convergent plate boundaries. The Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean is the deepest oceanic trench, with a maximum depth of around 11,000 meters in the Challenger Deep. Therefore, the deep sea can be found in the abyssal plains and the oceanic trenches of the ocean.
