Where did the inauguration of first Prince Wales take place?
The first investiture of a Prince of Wales took place at Caernarfon Castle in Wales in 1301 when Edward I presented his new-born son, the future Edward II, to his Welsh subjects as their prince. Since then, the tradition has continued but with some gap and the heir apparent to the throne has usually been invested as Prince of Wales at Caernarfon Castle in a large public ceremony.
