He was also a great builder and many of the magnificent palaces, temples, and other buildings in Assyria were constructed during his reign.
- Sargon II: He was the king of Assyria from 722 to 705 BCE. He is best known for conquering the kingdom of Israel in 722 BCE and deporting a large number of its inhabitants to Assyria. He also conquered many other regions and cities, including Babylon, Tyre, and Sidon. Sargon II is also known for his administrative reforms and for building the city of Dur-Sharrukin, which served as his capital.
