As of 2021, there are an estimated 25.5 million dwellings in the United Kingdom, of which approximately 15.6 million are houses and 9.9 million are flats and apartments. Of the 15.6 million houses, around 10.6 million are detached, 3.5 million are semi-detached and 1.5 million are terraced.
