What system does England use?

The Westminster system is a type of parliamentary government in which a single political party or a coalition of parties holds a majority in the elected lower house of the legislature. The largest party in the lower house forms the government and the leader of that party becomes the prime minister. The prime minister and the cabinet, composed of members of the majority party or parties, exercise executive authority. The system is a variant of the responsible government system, in which the executive is accountable to and removable by the legislature. The Westminster system originated in the United Kingdom and has been adopted by many other countries, particularly those that were once part of the British Empire, such as Canada, Australia, India, and New Zealand.
