When did St Andrew live in Scotland?

There is no historical evidence that Saint Andrew ever lived in Scotland. Although he is the patron saint of Scotland, historical records suggest that he preached and was martyred in Patras, Greece, in the 1st century AD. The association between Saint Andrew and Scotland likely originated in the 8th century when relics believed to belong to him were brought to Fife, Scotland, by Saint Rule.
