Is it true that Big Ben in London still called Ben?

Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of Westminster, which is the largest four-faced chiming clock in the world. The clock is located at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London and is often referred to as Big Ben, although this is technically incorrect. The clock tower itself is officially known as the Elizabeth Tower, after Queen Elizabeth II, and the bell was named Big Ben in honour of Sir Benjamin Hall, the First Commissioner of Works at the time of its installation.
