New York Teen Clubs

New York is the most populated city in the U.S. and welcomes over 40 million visitors each year. New York has several different types of club that teens can sign up for or take part in. For example there are sports clubs for fitness and marital arts, nightclubs for underage teens who want to party and social clubs for specific activities or events.

  1. Nightclubs

    • Nightclubs in New York are usually reserved for those older than a teenager because of the drinking laws and minimum age limits. However, a few clubs open their doors specifically for younger adults and teens. The Halo Club is one of the many teen-orientated nightclubs that give otherwise underage entrants the opportunity to party and socialize. The Halo Club features a Sweet 16s Bar and has various DJ booths and HD plasma TVs dotted around the dance floor. Other teen nightclubs include Star Bar on West 22nd Street.

    Sports Clubs

    • Sport is one of the many things that teenagers and kids can do in the city in their spare time. New York offers a host of sporting schools and clubs such as Velocity Sports Performance and the New York Athletic Club. The Eastern Athletic Club offers karate classes for teens 16 years of age and under. Classes at the club take place on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

    Comedy and Performance Clubs

    • For those teens who don't want to party or go nightclubbing, other clubs provide entertainment such as standup comedy, live music or films. These clubs usually put on two different types of night: some allow any age in and have only a minimum entry age (e.g. 14 years old) while other clubs just put on an event intended only for teens. New York's Comedy Cellar is a club that sometimes puts on teen-only nights and The People's Improv Theater (PIT) is an acting club that puts on performance nights for teenagers and also teaches teen classes.

    Alternative Teen Nights

    • New York has plenty of alternative nights aimed for or at teenagers and young adults. An example is the New York's Broadway City, which is an interactive amusement center close to Times Square. Broadway City lets visitors play and test high-tech video games and is modeled on 1920s-era New York with authentic food and original city memorabilia. Broadway City is also capable of putting on teen birthday parties or teen-themed evenings.
