Marietta lies at the foot of the North Georgia Mountains, about 15 miles northwest of Atlanta. The distance between the downtowns of the two cities as the crow flies is a bit more, about 18 miles.
The easiest connection between the two cities is a brief jaunt up or down 1-75. According to RandMcNally, the road distance is 21.0 miles. Travel times may vary slightly, depending on where in each city you depart for the other and the amount of traffic. Generally, the trip should take no more than a half-hour or so, outside of rush hour.
Points of interest between the two cities include the Kennesaw Mountain Civil War battlefield, Dobbins Air Force Base and the Bobby Jones Golf Course.
